Ingredients
- 1 lb ziti pasta
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook ziti until al dente and drain.
- Mix ricotta, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Combine pasta with marinara, then layer half in the dish. Add ricotta mixture, then top with remaining pasta.
- Cover with mozzarella and Parmesan and bake 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly.
Tips for the best results
Cook the pasta just to al dente, salt the pasta water well, and save a little pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed. Fresh herbs and Parmesan can add even more flavor at the end.
