Ingredients
- 3 3/4 cups (470 g) all-purpose flour, plus more as needed
- 2 1/4 tsp (7 g) instant yeast
- 3 tbsp (38 g) sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1 cup (240 ml) warm whole milk
- 1 large egg
- 8 tbsp (113 g) unsalted butter, melted and divided

Instructions
- Mix flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Add milk, egg and 5 tablespoons butter; knead 8 minutes until smooth and slightly tacky.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover and rise 60–75 minutes until doubled.
- Roll dough 1/2 inch thick and cut sixteen 3-inch rounds. Brush with butter and fold slightly off-center.
- Arrange in a buttered 9-by-13-inch pan, cover and rise 35–45 minutes until puffy.
- Heat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush rolls with butter and bake 18–20 minutes until deep golden.
- Brush with remaining butter, add flaky salt if desired and serve warm.
